LYNCHBURG - �The Roanoke College men's soccer team defeated Lynchburg College 1-0 on Tuesday evening.� The #24 ranked Maroons now have a record of 11-2-2, 8-0-1 in ODAC play, while the Hornets are 10-5, 7-2 in the ODAC.

The last time the Maroons went 8-0-1 in ODAC play was back in 2002, where they finished the regular season with that conference record.� In 2002, the Maroons finished ranked #12 in the NCAA, with an 18-4-1 record, advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The lone goal of the contest came from Roanoke's Robby Lentine at 18:05 in the first half.� Lentine fielded a long pass from Marc Dinkel and proceeded to place it in the back of the net.� Lentine's goal proved to be the only one in the game, as Roanoke picked up the 1-0 victory over the Hornets.

Roanoke was narrowly outshot by Lynchburg 14-11, with Marc Dinkel leading the team with three shots.� Robby Lentine and Christopher Fisher each fired off two shots in the contest as well.� Cole Sinclair played all 90 minutes in net and tallied six saves in the shutout.

Lynchburg's Luke Moore took five of the team's 14 shots on the night, with two of them finding the face of the goal.� He was followed in shots by Fredy Flores, who took three attempts in the effort.� Scott Zaring played the complete game in net, fending off three saves.

While Roanoke trailed in shots on the night, they also had fewer corner kicks (5) than Lynchburg (7).

The Maroons return to action on Saturday, October 25^th as they take on Washington and Lee at Kerr Stadium.� That contest is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
