The men's soccer team enters the 2014 ODAC Tournament as the #1 seed after going undefeated in conference play for just the second time in school history (2002). �The Maroons, who finished the regular season with a record of 13-2-2 (10-0-1 ODAC) play host to #8 seed Eastern Mennonite in the ODAC Tournament Quarterfinals on Saturday at 6:00 PM in Kerr Stadium.� The two teams last met on Thursday, October 17th, where the Maroons were victorious 4-3.� Orestis Ilias and two time ODAC Player of the Week Marc Dinkel scored two goals apiece, all in the first.� The Maroons had to hold off the attacking Royals for the conference win.

Marc Dinkel leads the team, and the ODAC, in numerous statistical categories.� He has amassed 31 total points, having scored 11 goals and dished out nine assists.� He also ranks second in the conference in game-winning goals and fourth in total shots.� Tyler Carbaugh is third in the ODAC in total assists, helping out in six goals this season.� The former ODAC Rookie of the Year is tied with Dinkel in game winning goals, putting away three for the Maroons this season.� Goalkeeper Cole Sinclair leads the conference in goals against average (0.67) and save percentage (.833).� He also has the most wins in the league with 13.

If the Maroons win on Saturday, they will advance to play on Tuesday, November 4th, at Kerr Stadium, against the winner of #4 Hampden-Sydney and #5 Washington and Lee.� Roanoke defeated the Tigers 1-0, while also besting Washington & Lee 2-0 in the second half of the season.

The Maroons have won their last seven matches in a row, the longest win-streak of the season.� The team has a record of 20-7 (7-3 ODAC), marking the program's sixth 20-win season in school history, all under the tutelage of head coach Blair Trail.� This is the first 20-win season since 2010, and the Maroons improve over the previous season, winning 19 matches in 2013.

Roanoke is hosting a tri-match on Saturday morning, beginning at 11:00 AM.� The Maroons play the first and third matches of the day, starting with ODAC opponent Virginia Wesleyan at 11:00 AM.� They will then go on to play Averett at 3:00 PM, while the two opposing teams will face off against each other in the 1:00 PM contest.� Roanoke currently sits in fifth in the ODAC standings, while Virginia Wesleyan (21-9, 8-2) is third on the table.� If the Maroons defeat the Marlins in the 11:00 AM game on Saturday, there is a chance that Roanoke could host a first round ODAC Tournament match. �Tournament seeds will become official on Saturday afternoon.

Allison White leads the Maroons in kills with 235, followed by Brooke Bostwick with 221. � Macey Tyree also has over 200 kills, tallying 208 so far this year. �Jessica Block has been Roanoke's assists leader, dishing out 553 through 27 matches. �She also leads the ODAC in service aces with 60, four more than second place. �Alexandra Martin has split most of the assists with Block, tallying 359 of her own assists this year. �Tyree (229) and Ryan Hedgepeth (227) are one and two in digs on the team, while Jessica Block has 216. �Bostwick has put together 61 total blocks in 2014, while Sarah Long has 58 to her credit.

The women finished the 2014 regular season with a record of 11-6-1 (7-4-1 ODAC), putting together the team's ninth consecutive 10 win season.� Head Coach Phil Benne is currently sitting with 298 career wins, and if the Maroons can advance to the ODAC Championship game this season, he will reach the 300 win milestone.� Benne entered the season tied for 12th�among active NCAA coaches, with only seven active coaches having reached the milestone before the 2014 campaign began.� He was also 20th�all-time, with only 13 coaches having ever reached 300 wins.

The Maroons enter the 2014 ODAC Tournament as the #5 seed, facing off against #4 seed Virginia Wesleyan.� The game will be played on Saturday at Virginia Beach with a start time of 2:00 PM.� The two teams faced off on Saturday, October 4th�where the Marlins edged out the Maroons 1-0 on the east coast.

The Maroons are led in scoring by Marlana Barnard, who has put away nine goals so far this season.� Her tally ranks seventh in the ODAC and she is tenth in points after adding her two assists.� Barnard sits fourth in the ODAC in game-winners, tallying three for the Maroons.� She is followed in scoring by Ashley Barnes, who has six goals and three assists over the course of the campaign.� Barnes has also netted three game-winners for Roanoke this season.� The Maroons are a great passing team, as 13 different players have tallied an assist, with eight players dishing out more than one assist.� Carolyn Sarbacher and Sarah Dvorak have tallied five wins each in goal for the Maroons, with Sarbacher leading in saves with 35.

The Roanoke College men's and women's cross country teams travel down to Greensboro, NC to take on the 2014 ODAC Championships this Saturday.� The race, which will begin at 11:00 AM will take place at the Guilford College Cross Country Course.�

Both the men's and women's teams have taken top five finishes in every meet that they have run so far this season.� On the men's side, Harrison Toney has been the top runner for the Maroons, winning his last three races.� At the Hagan Stone Classic, Toney ran his fastest 8k time this season of 25:46.9, which currently stands as the 10th�fastest 8k in the conference.� Running the second fastest 8k for the Maroons is John Wiggins, who also ran his top time (27:23) at the Hagan Stone Classic.� Also running sub-28 8k's are Kevin Waterman (27:56.1) and Justin Ginnings (27:56.0).

On the women's side, Kerri Dalton and Caitlin Ashley have been the top runners for the Maroons cross country squad this season.� Dalton has walked away with four of the Maroons best times, while Ashley was the fastest runner for the Maroons in the Berry College Invitational on October 18th.� Dalton and Ashley have the second and third fastest 5k times in the ODAC, respectively, both coming out of the Hagan Stone Classic.� During the meet, Dalton finished in a time of 19:46.8, while Ashley finished in a time of 19:48.8.� Claire Brooks is third on the team in the 5k, posting a time of 20:26.0.?
