Dinkel, Pflugrad Earn Top Honors, Seven Maroons Named To All-ODAC Teams
FOREST, Va. ---Roanoke College�took home two major honors as part of the All-ODAC�Men's Soccer Awards.� Forward Marc Dinkel earned ODAC Player of the Year accolades, while Maroons' mentor Ryan Pflugrad received ODAC Coach of the Year laurels.��Hampden-Sydney College�forward Ryan Turner was named the ODAC Rookie of the Year, and�Eastern Mennonite University�goalkeeper Andrew Yoder was tabbed the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Scholar-Athlete.

The Maroons also placed seven players on 2014 All-ODAC teams.� Dinkel, Tyler Carbaugh Garrett Eldridge, Dionys Beck and Cole Sinclair all were tabbed with First Team All-ODAC honors.� Robby Lentine earned All-ODAC Second Team honors for his play this season.� On the All-ODAC Third Team is freshman defender Sam Rauf.

Dinkel, a junior from Basel, Switzerland, led the ODAC in points (37), goals scored (12) and assists (13) as he proved to be the engine behind the ODAC's top scoring offense (43 goals) thru the end of the conference tournament.� He is the first Maroon to be named ODAC Player of the Year since Eric Eversole won in 2006.� Four times he notched the game-winning goal for RC, including a 1-0 victory over�Randolph-Macon College�and a 4-3 triumph at EMU.� He started all 20 games for the Maroons, registering at least one point on 14 occasions.� His largest output came in the ODAC semifinals against�Washington and Lee University�in which he scored once and dished out three assists for a five-point night.� Thru two seasons in a RC uniform, Dinkel has scored 17 goals and handed out 19 assists for 53 points.� His 19 assists rank tied for ninth all-time at Roanoke College, with his 13 in 2014 ranking third all-time in single season assists.

Pflugrad enjoys his first ODAC top coaching award after just his second year leading his alma mater.� He wins the award for Roanoke for the second time in three years, with Scott Allison winning the award in his final season at the helm of the Maroons in 2012.� Roanoke posted a 15-3-2 record in all contests, but only had a tie blemish its conference mark on the way to a 10-0-1 campaign and the top seed in the ODAC Tournament.� RC made its second appearance in the ODAC championship game in three seasons, falling to�Lynchburg College, 1-0.� In two seasons, Pflugrad owns records of 24-10-4 (.684) overall and 15-4-3 (.750) against conference competition.

Carbaugh, a junior from Blacksburg, VA, earns his third consecutive All-ODAC nod, having been named to the First Team in 2013 and Second Team in 2012.� Also in 2012 he was named ODAC Rookie of the Year.� Carbaugh finished the season with four goals and six assists.� Carbaugh's six assists ranked third in the ODAC.�� He also tallied 41 shots (9th in the ODAC).� In three out of his four goals, Carbaugh tallied the game-winning score, which ranked third among all players in the conference.� He finished the season with 14 points, the third highest total among the Maroon squad.

Eldridge, a senior from Wayne, PA, picks up his third All-ODAC award in his four years as a Maroon.� He earned First Team All-ODAC accolades in 2013 and was named to the Third Team in 2012.� Eldridge ranked fourth on the Maroons squad in points, tallying three goals and one assist over the course of the season.� He started and played in all 20 games for the Maroons, tallying 22 shots on the year.� Eldridge scored one of Roanoke's five goals in the 2014 ODAC Semifinal game against Washington and Lee.

Beck, a junior from Blacksburg, VA, is named to the All-ODAC team for the second consecutive year.� He earned Second Team All-ODAC honors in 2013.� The defender started and played in all 20 games for the Maroons in 2014.� He finished the season with three shots as well.� Beck was part of a Roanoke defense that posted eight shutouts over the course of the season, including five consecutive games down the stretch through the ODAC Tournament.

Sinclair, a junior from Blacksburg, VA, earns his first All-ODAC award in the 2014 season.� Sinclair was an outstanding goalkeeper for the Maroons this season, logging over 1700 minutes in goal.� He finished with a goals-against average of 0.67, which ranked first in the ODAC.� He also tallied 62 saves with a save percentage of .827, the second best mark in the conference.� Sinclair picked up 15 wins on the year, leading all goalkeepers in the category.� He also dished out eight shutouts, more than any other player in the league.

Lentine, a junior from Raymond, ME, earned his first All-ODAC nod this season, picking up Second Team honors.� Lentine ranked second on the team in total points, scoring five goals and dishing out five assists.� His five assists ranked sixth in the ODAC, while his 15 points were 10th in the conference.� Two of Lentine's five goals came as game winners as well.� He finished the season with 38 shots over the course of 20 games, all of which he played and started.

Rauf, a freshman defender from Cary, NC, picks up his first All-ODAC honor in his debut season.� While playing as a defender, Rauf also tallied two goals, one each in back to back games.� He tallied a goal in the 5-1 win over Averett, then turned around and scored the second goal in the 2-0 win over Greensboro.� Rauf finished the season with 13 total shots.� Like Beck, Rauf was part of a Roanoke defense that posted eight shutouts over the season.�
