SALEM, Va. - Head Coach Ryan Pflugrad has announced the date for the sixth annual RC Men's Soccer Goal-A-Thon to be held on Friday, March, 23 at 7:30 p.m. at Kerr Stadium.
The event is a 5-vs-5 tournament played with current players and alumni of the men's soccer program to support the program and raise awareness for Micah's Backpack.
The Maroons have raised over $10,000 for Micah's Backpack in the past five years of the annual Goal-A-Thon. Micah's Backpack is a local organization that provides underprivileged children in the local city schools with six meals each weekend to address children hunger needs in the community.
How it works: On Friday, March 23, 2018, the RC Men's Soccer team and participating alumni will be divided into teams of 5 players. Teams will play timed, "small-sided" games at the Kerr Stadium Field until a combined total of 100 goals are scored.
How to donate: The minimum sponsorship is $.25 per goal. One time donations will be accepted as well.
Who benefits: The RC Men's Soccer Program and Micah's Backpack. Half of the proceeds will be donated to Micah's Backpack, a local organization which provides underprivileged children in local city schools with six meals each weekend to address hunger needs.
