Salem, Va. – Roanoke College's Morgan Barlow has been named the 2017 Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Year, while Emma Boris was named first-team all-state
Barlow kicked off her collegiate career as the ODAC Rookie of the Year, closing out her first season with 24 goals, ranking her 20th in the league. Additionally, she added two assists for 26 points, while pulling in 23 draw controls for the Maroons. The freshman midfielder made her way onto Second-Team All-ODAC before being named to IWLCA Second-Team All-Region.
Boris joined Barlow on the second-team all-region squad. It marks the second consecutive all-region honor for Boris who was named to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference First-Team as well. Boris ranked second in the ODAC in groundballs with 47, including a league high 31 in ODAC play. She also grabbed 40 draw controls which was 10th most in the league, while her 34 caused turnovers was second-best in the ODAC.
