Late Goal sinks Maroons

Salem, Va. --- Hannah Pearson scored off an assist from Amy Olson with 26-seconds remaining to lift Mary Washington to a 1-0 victory Friday afternoon at Kerr Stadium. With the win, the Eagles improved to 7-3-4 while the Maroons dropped to 5-6-1 on the season.
Lindsay Kooiman had four saves for Roanoke while Laura McCarthy also finished with four saves for Mary Washington. Both teams were even on shots (6), shots on goal (5) and corner kicks with two apiece.
Kristen McCoy had two shots on goal to lead the Maroons. She now has 125 career shots on goal to move her into third all-time in that category. McCoy is also second in career shots with 238.
The women will host Sweet Briar on Wednesday, Oct. 15 in ODAC action. Roanoke is 20-0-1 against the Vixens and hasn't allowed a goal in the series in 10 years. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
