Salem, Va. – Six Roanoke College Indoor Track & Field standouts have been named All South/Southeast Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
To be named all-region, an athlete must either be ranked in the top-5 of an individual event in the region according to final TFRRS data or be part of a top-3 relay team.
On the men's side, Cameron Thompson was named all-region in the 200 meters. Thompson currently has the top time in the ODAC in the 200, a 22.57 that he recorded at the Bast – Cregger Invitational in December. The time also ranks fourth in the South/Southeast Region.
The Roanoke Women's Distance Medley Relay team of Caity Ashley, Claire Brooks, Kerri Dalton and Brynn MacDougall earned all-region honors as well. The quartet posted a school record time of 12:55.13 at the Finn Pincus Invitational in February. The time is second best in the ODAC and third in the region.
Mara Briggs was named all-region in the high jump. Her 5' 5" - 1.65m jump at the Liberty Kickoff in January is tops in the ODAC and ranks second regionally.
