SALEM - Despite taking an early 1-0 lead, the Roanoke College volleyball team dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference matchup against Washington and Lee, 3-1 (25-23, 11-25, 23-25, 24-26) on Friday. The Maroons now have a record of 15-11, 4-6 in ODAC play, while the Generals are 20-7, and 8-1 in ODAC competition.

Roanoke now has an all-time record of 6-33 against Washington and Lee, with the last time the Maroons defeated the Generals was in the ODAC Tournament in 2009.

Sarah Long led the Maroons in kills with 15, followed by three maroons with nine each: Allison White, Shannon Stone, and Macey Tyree. Shannon Stone and Alexandra Martin topped the Maroons with 19 assists each. In tonight's contest, Stone moved to the third all-time on career assists list with 1852, just one more than the previous record held by Heather Perry. Mackenzie Tyree had the most digs for Roanoke with 22, with Martin behind her with 10. Mackenzie Allen and Allison White had four total blocks each.

The Maroons return to action on Saturday, October 20^th as they play host to two matches during the day. They will play Shenandoah at 11:00 AM and then will turn around and play Catholic University at 3:00 PM.
