VIRGINIA BEACH � The Roanoke College volleyball team defeated Virginia Wesleyan in the quarterfinals of the 2013 ODAC Volleyball Championships, 3-0 on Wednesday evening.� The Maroons advance in the tournament with a record of 19-10, while the Marlins exit the bracket with a mark of 16-14.

With tonight's win, Roanoke advances to the semifinals of the ODAC Tournament for the first time since the 2009 season, where they defeated Washington & Lee in the quarterfinals.� If #5 seed Roanoke can defeat #1 seed Washington and Lee on Saturday, November 9^th, the Maroons will have picked up their first 20 win season since they went 21-7 in 2010.

Roanoke swept Virginia Wesleyan, 3-0 (25-21; 25-19; 25-16) on the road.� Samantha Klostermann led the Maroons in kills with eight, followed by Sarah Long who tallied six.� Jessica Block led all players in assists, dishing out 23 of Roanoke's 25 assists on the evening.� Three Maroons finished with double-digit digs: Mackenzie Tyree (15), Macey Tyree (12),� and Allison White (10).� Macey Tyree also finished with four service aces, while Carrie Heldreth added three.

Virginia Wesleyan led in kills 31-26, but had twice as many errors as Roanoke (25-12).� Roanoke bested the Marlins' kill percentage on the evening .129-.050, and the two teams each had 56 digs.�
