RC Volleyball Sets School Record with 11th Straight Win to Start the Season

The Lead: Roanoke set a new school record with its 11th consecutive win to start the season as the Maroons topped Bridgewater 3-2 Tuesday night in ODAC Volleyball action.

How it Happened:
  • The Maroons win streak of 11 to start the year beats the previous mark of 10 set back in 2008. The 11 consecutive victories�is also the second longest winning streak in school history.
  • Allison White had 18 kills on the evening, Kylah Blackmore recorded 13 kills, while Logan Graves and Sydney Daniel each had 10.
  • Jessica Block had 49 assists to go along with seven aces, while Alexandra Martin and Olivia Earls had 25 and 16 digs, respectively.
  • Bridgewater came out of the gates quickly and took game one before the Maroons rallied to take the next two games. Bridgewater claimed game four to even the match at 2-2.
  • In game three, BC jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead. RC responded with 11 straight points to take control and win the game and the match.

Roanoke will continue ODAC play on Friday when it travels to Guilford College for a 6:30 p.m. match.�
