Salem, Va. – Roanoke Volleyball will host 11 home matches in the Cregger Center, including the Maroon Classic Tournament as Head Coach Blair Trail released the schedule for the 2017 season.
The Maroons kick off the season at the Averett Cougar Classic Sept. 1-2 where they face Guilford, William Peace, Averett and Randolph in Danville, Va. The Maroon Classic will be held Sept. 8-9 as RC welcomes Mary Baldwin, Piedmont, Ferrum and Salem.
RC kicks off conference play at Emory & Henry on Sept. 13 before hosting Bridgewater on the 15th and Eastern Mennonite on the 16th in Salem.
The Maroons face in-state foe Southern Virginia twice in the month of September beginning on Sept. 20 in Lexington, Va. and a home contest with the Knights on the 25th, just after a home match-up with Virginia Wesleyan on Sept. 23. Roanoke closes September at defending ODAC champion, Randolph-Macon on the 27th before hosting Lynchburg on the 29th.
In October, Guilford travels to Salem on the fourth and travels to Randolph on the 10th before hosting Averett on the 12th in the final home game of the regular season.
RC will have four road matches to close the season, traveling to Washington and Lee (Oct. 20), Shenandoah (Oct. 21), Hollins (Oct. 24) and Methodist (Oct. 26).
Roanoke was tied for sixth in the ODAC preseason poll that the conference released Monday afternoon. Last season, the Maroons finished with a 17-9 overall and a 5-6 conference record, highlighted by a win over regionally-ranked Averett.
